Over the past weeks, church leaders have been monitoring the situation surrounding COVID-19 in Hong Kong to make sure we are responsibly safeguarding our members and community.
The situation has come to a point where we believe the most loving thing to do as a church is to support the Hong Kong Government in its efforts to increase social distancing in order to minimise the risk of spreading this virus.
Starting this Sunday morning, Emmanuel English Church will no longer gather together physically at our sanctuary. We will move our Powerhouse Prayer Meeting and Sunday Service online. We, as a community, will still be able to gather together all over Hong Kong and beyond to worship together!
Small Groups will also stop meeting physically. We will equip leaders to host gatherings online throughout this period so that while we maintain responsible social distance, we can still flourish together spiritually.
Though we long to be with each other, we believe this is an opportunity for our church to grow in this challenging time. As a community, we can all learn to be more intentional in loving and caring for those around us. We also believe this is a unique opportunity for us to reach those who would typically not set foot in a church!
Our teams are working around the clock this week to prepare for the first-ever Emmanuel English Church fully-online service. Please stay tuned to our website and social media channels for updates and the latest arrangements.
Even though our current circumstance seems unprecedented and alarming, our God is still worthy of all our worship. Jesus’ name is still, and will forever be, above every name. We, as a church, will continue to praise our God and King with all our might.
We are cancelling the Easter Sunrise Service at TST Harbourfront due to bad weather. Our 11am worship service will not be affected by this change.
Due to Typhoon Mangkhut, our 11am Sunday worship service has been cancelled according to our increment weather policy.
